Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport, short Kigali city tour, and transfer to hotel
Africa Reveal Safaris guide will meet you at Kigali International Airport on the first day of your ten-day stay in Rwanda. Because the guide will be carrying a plaque with your names on it, you can quickly identify them. Your guide will take you to Kigali for a city tour and lunch once you have met and greeted each other. You will then be taken to a reserved hotel in Kigali city following lunch. After checking in, you unwind, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 2: Drive to Akagera National Park and have an evening game drive
After breakfast in Kigali, you will go to Akagera National Park by car for approximately two and a half hours. When you get there in time for lunch, you eat and then unwind before the evening game drive. In the afternoon, you go on a game drive through Akagera’s savannah plains. Buffaloes, rhinos, elephants, lions, and leopards—the big five game—are among the creatures that are seen. Other wildlife species include roan antelopes, duikers, impala, cape eland, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, cape bushbuck, topis, oribis, and many more. You head back to the hotel or lodge you reserved in the evening to unwind, eat dinner, and spend the night.

Day 3: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema in Akagera National Park
After breakfast in the morning, you go on a game drive in the beautiful savannah plains for approximately four hours, depending on your interests and animal sightings. You then return to your lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon, you take a boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you can see hippos and crocodiles in the water and other wildlife like elephants and buffaloes along the lake’s shores. Following the boat ride, you check in, eat dinner and spend the night at a prearranged lodging facility.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast in the morning, you will be driven to the park’s headquarters to begin your chimpanzee trekking adventure. You continue to wander until you come to the location of the chimps’ last night’s sleep. The speed at which chimpanzees leap and play impacts how many pictures you capture and how much time you spend looking at them. You can watch them making noise as they bounce from tree to tree at fast speeds.
You meet the driver guide at the starting site of the hike to be transferred to the hotel for lunch and rest.

Day 6: Canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will have the opportunity to explore the best canopy walkway in East Africa this morning at Nyungwe Forest. The canopy walk is accessible by foot from the park headquarters, where you are driven. It takes almost two hours to stroll on the suspension, which is about 70 meters above the woodland floor. You later go back to the hotel to unwind and have lunch. You unwind during the evening.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Following breakfast, your driver-guide picks you up from the lodge for a drive to the park headquarters. Arriving at the park headquarters in Kinigi you first have a briefing on the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking in Rwanda by the park warden. By 8:30 am, the park ranger guide will transfer you to the trekking starting point for a gorilla trek. A total of 8 tourists with a trekking permit of Rwanda which costs USD 1500 per permit are allocated one gorilla family. Every 8 individuals take about 2-6 hours in the jungle trekking through the bamboo forest along with armed ranger guides. However, only 1 hour (60 minutes) is spent in the presence of the mountain gorillas. Although the duration of the walk varies based on the movements of the gorilla groups, the Rwandan population is known to travel shorter distances, making the trek easier. You stroll back to the park headquarters after spending an hour with a gorilla family, where you meet the tour guide to be taken back to your accommodation. Day 9: Golden Monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park and transfer to Lake Kivu
You will trek for golden monkeys in the morning at Volcanoes National Park, where they live alongside mountain gorillas. Because of their colour, golden monkeys are easily recognised and have distinctive personalities. To receive a briefing prior to the walk, you must arrive at the park headquarters as early as 7:00 am. There are two golden monkey troops in Rwanda, the largest of which is located on Mount Sabinyo, the park’s most visited area with between 80 and 100 monkeys. Following your hike, you are driven back to your hotel for dining. You are taken to Lake Kivu in the evening, where you will stay overnight along the lake’s shores.
