During five formative days in the Serengeti, you will explore the vast Ngorongoro Crater, go on animal drives in pursuit of the “big five,” and get to know the Maasai in a secluded village. Detailed Itinerary: Kilimanjaro And Serengeti

Day 1: Moshi

Arrive at any time and meet your Africa Reveal Safaris’ Guide for your welcome moment.

 

Day 2: Moshi/Mti Mkubwa Camp

On the Lemosho path of Kilimanjaro, begin your ascent, and end the day at the Mti Mkubwa Campsite.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp/Shira 1 Camp

Climb the Shira ridge to reach the plateau where Shira 1 Camp is situated, and then descend to reach the moorland.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp/Shira 2 Camp

Proceed across the Shira plateau, stopping sometimes for quick treks to acclimatize.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp/Barranco Camp

You have to climb a rough scree to reach the Lava Tower. Go down into the Great Barranco Valley to camp and acclimatize.

Day 6: Barranco Camp/Karanga Camp

Take on the Great Barranco Wall to ascend into the alpine desert of the Karanga Valley.

Day 7: Karanga Camp/Barafu Camp

You have to cross the mountain desert before you can get to Barafu Camp. Prepare to start the climb at midnight.

Day 8: Barafu Camp/Mweka Camp

Initiate your climb at midnight. Before crossing the snow and rocks to reach Uhuru Peak, take control of the rim of the main crater. As you descend to Mweka Camp, exercise caution.

Day 9: Mweka Camp/Moshi

Make your way through the forested lower slopes to Moshi. Talk to the mothers at the Moshi Women’s Cooperative.

Day 10: Moshi/Arusha

Navigate the forested lower slopes to Moshi. Have a conversation with the Moshi Women’s Cooperative mothers.

Day 11: Arusha/Mto wa Mbu

Experience traditional food by having lunch with a local family and taking a guided cultural walk around Mto wa Mbu village. The ideal location for a wildlife safari is Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 12: Mto wa Mbu/Serengeti National Park

Take a safari across the centre of the Serengeti.

Day 13: Serengeti National Park

An early safari drive kicks off a long day of Serengeti wildlife viewing. Enjoy a bush lunch while hunting for the “big five” in the vast Serengeti grasslands.

Day 14: Serengeti National Park/Ngorongoro

As you depart the Serengeti, begin your day with a wildlife safari drive. After that, proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater to continue seeing wildlife. You will enjoy an excellent view of the crater from your tent on its edge.

Day 15: Ngorongoro/Arusha

When you return to Arusha, your journey will come to an end. You can schedule your subsequent flight or decide to stay an additional night or two in Arusha starting at six o’clock in the evening.
