3 Days Tanzania Safari from Zanzibar Itinerary for First Timers

This three-day safari in Tanzania is the perfect option for anyone who lives on the spice island or is going to Zanzibar for a beach vacation because it starts and ends on the island. This three-day safari from Zanzibar is actually the best package available if you’re interested in the Big Five and want to enjoy a real traditional wildlife safari in the Northern Circuit.

The 3-day tour is a great deal for individuals of all ages because of the short travel times and the near vicinity of the three parks you will explore. The Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s two most famous wildlife parks, Tarangire National Park, and the small but distinctive Lake Manyara National Park are among the top three parks in Tanzania’s Northern Circuit that are visited during the three-day safari, which begins and ends at Zanzibar Airport.

The first stop on your wild tour will be Tarangire National Park, which is well-known for its unusually huge herds of elephants, the massive baobab trees that grow there, and rare creatures like gerenuks and oryxes. With breathtaking views of the surrounding plains and Lake Burunge in the distance, safari guests can stay in a cosy tent camp or lodge close by, just outside the park’s boundaries. After successful game drives in the Tarangire, we can take you to a less costly midrange lodge in the Karatu district, where you can stay until the late afternoon. This will enable you to spend the entire safari at the same lodge.

If you have the funds and wish to visit Serengeti National Park, take a look at our 3-day Flying Serengeti safari that leaves from Zanzibar.

3 Day Tanzania Safari from Zanzibar: Where to visit

Your next stop on your three-day Tanzanian safari will be the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable quantity of species that may be seen up close. Think of buffaloes, lions, elephants, leopards, and black rhinoceroses. If you’re lucky, you can view all five of the big five in one day in this “Eden of Africa.” Accommodations for this day are available at the beautiful mid-range resort we have included in the itinerary for this tour in Karatu, which is just a short drive from the Loduare Gate, the main entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, or at a lodge directly on the rim of the crater (at an additional cost).

The last stop on your three-day safari in Tanzania from Zanzibar will be the evergreen Lake Manyara National Park, which is well-known for its legendary tree-climbing lions among many other animals and birds that may be seen in this small park. The park is a fantastic place to see hippos beside the lake, and it has over 400 bird species identified here. Additionally, you may be fortunate enough to see flamingos or other water birds. Lake Manyara is a must-see site for avian enthusiasts.

Later in the day, you will be driven back to the domestic airport in Arusha in preparation for your journey to Zanzibar Island. You can also be dropped off (for a little fee) at Kilimanjaro if you are departing from there today. Alternatively, you can travel to Dar es Salaam if your international departure falls on the last day of your three-day Tanzanian safari that started in Zanzibar. This marks the end of your amazing three-day “taste of Tanzania” safari from Zanzibar.

If you’re looking for a less expensive 3-day safari from Zanzibar, take a look at our Mikumi National Park safari from Zanzibar Island. Tell us which one you like, please.
