Day to Day Itinerary of the Tanzania camping safari
Day 1: Dar es salaam to Selous Ngalawa Tented Camp
You will be picked up in the morning from your Dar es Salaam accommodation and driven to Selous Game Reserve. The trip, which will take five to six hours and pass through some of Tanzania’s most uncharted and unspoiled regions, will include a picnic lunch. Take a boat safari in the afternoon to see crocodiles and hippos in their natural environment and to get up close and personal with riverine birds. Ngalawa Camp, located just outside the reserve gate, is the place to stay. And this marks the start of our Tanzania camping safari.
Day 2: Full day game drive inside Selous Game Reserve
Following a breakfast meal, you will set out on a full-day game drive within the reserve. Elephants, buffalo, and wild dogs are present in high numbers in Selous. Moreover, lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, eland, baboons, zebras, kudus, and crocodiles are frequently sighted. We will have dinner and spend the night in Ngalawa Camp.
Day 3: Selous to Mikumi National Park with game viewing en-route
Following breakfast, you will spend roughly two hours on a walking safari with armed rangers. The goal is to obtain a closer feel for the bush and see some of the lesser but no less significant components of the ecosystem, rather than approaching potentially dangerous wildlife. Game viewing on the way to Mikumi National Park after the walk. Arrive at Mikumi Bastian Camp to check in.
Day 4: Full day drive in Mikumi National Park
Following an early breakfast, you will spend the entire day on a game drive in the park. The park’s primary feature is the Mikumi flood plain, which is surrounded by mountain ranges. The following animals are frequently seen here: giraffe, zebra, hippo, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, lion, eland, and hartebeest. Spend the night at the Mikumi Bastian Camp.
Day 5: Maasai Village visit then drive to Dar es Salaam
You will travel to Dar es Salaam, which is five hours away, after spending the morning in a Maasai village close to the park to observe their way of life. End of Tanzania camping safari.
