5 Days Murchison Safari starts with a visit to Murchison Falls National Park. There are different mammal species to see like Elephants, Buffaloes and Lions, Giraffes, antelope, Crocodiles, Hippos, and a lot more not forgetting the different birds like Shoebill, African Darter, Giant Kingfisher, Osprey, Long-toed Plover, Veracious Dove, and Black-headed Lapwing.

You will then drive through the Albertine Rift to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to mountain climbing gorillas.

Detailed Itinerary 5 Days Murchison & Gorilla Trekking Safari Uganda

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, our driver/ guide will pick you up from you your hotel and drive you to Murchison falls national park which takes approximately 6 to 7 hours. Visiting the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is a preference because you will get to see the beautiful white and black rhinos. Have a stopover at Masindi hotel for hot lunch then proceed with the journey till the top of the falls in Murchison Fall Park to sight the waterfalls squeezing themselves into the rocks. You might get a chance of viewing the shoebill too (not commonly seen). After visiting the top of the falls, you will be crossed by the ferry to your booked lodge for relaxing, dinner, and rest.

Accommodation at Paraa safari lodge (Luxury), Pakuba Lodge (midrange), and Red chili (Budget) on Full board meals basis.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

Wake up for an early breakfast in order to catch the morning game drive in the northern delta Nile. The four of the big animals shall be viewed including all the other mammals. These include; Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Giraffes, antelope, Crocodiles, Hippos, and the different bird species. After the morning game drive, you will be dropped back at the lodge for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon launch cruise to sight hippos and crocodiles, small herds of Buffalo and great birdlife on the papyrus banks, shoebill stork plus many more.

After the excitingly long day of wildlife sighting, relax at your lodge in the evening, have dinner and rest early for tomorrow’s activity.

Day 3: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After having an early breakfast, you will drive through the park again as you head to the Bwindi forests that are a habitat for the mountain climbing gorillas.

Enjoy the scenic drive as you will see the great Lake Albert, Rwenzori ranges, Kibale forest that’s well known as habitant for the cute chimpanzees, Lake George and Edward. Have a stopover for lunch and proceed to Bwindi at your booked lodge for dinner and rest. The journey will take you approximately 12 hours.

Accommodation at Buhoma Lodge (budget), Bwindi Lodge (midrange), Rushaga Camp(midrange), or Gorilla Heights(High end) on a full board meal basis.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Forest

After having an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the national park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and the don’ts while with the Gorillas. By 7:45 am – 8:00 am, you will commence hiking the mountains in search of the Gorillas. Packed lunch and bottled mineral water will be provided.

After a successful gorilla trekking, you can either relax at the lodge memorizing the beautiful experience, or drive up the hill to the top of the world to have a beautiful view of the mountains with entertainment from the Batwa people.

Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred back to Entebbe and along the way, you will have different stopovers for pictures, Lunch till you reach your accommodation for refreshment then catch your outbound flight making the end of your safari.
