Day 4: Full-Day Ngorongoro Conversation Area
A ranger will accompany you as you explore the Ngorongoro crater today beginning at 6:00 am. All of the large game may be seen at the Ngorongoro Crater, which is rich in biodiversity. The Lerai Forest, a traditional mountain forest with nearly tropical features, is located on one side. Keep an eye out for elephants because this is good elephant country. It is frequently referred to as the “elephant graveyard” because the powerful male tuskers near the end of their lives come to gnaw on the soft swamp grasses after their teeth have failed them.
There are about 120 lions in the crater, each with a clearly defined territory; there are also 15,000 gnus, 9,000 zebras, 400 hyenas, and about 50 black rhinos. Numerous gnu and other herd animals live there, benefiting from the numerous year-round water sources and being assisted by seasonal migrants. There are also significant populations of Thomson’s gazelle, eland, buffalo, servals, and jackals. Pools, swamps, and highlands are home to hippos, and the surrounding waters are teeming with diverse and abundant birds. A portion of the crater floor is Lake Magadi, where flamingos are frequently sighted. You will return to your lodging for dinner and an overnight stay following your evening game drive.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Drive from Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most renowned wildlife conservation regions, which is home to over 3 million animals, after an early breakfast. You can see hundreds of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and Thompson gazelles during the great migration, depending on the season. These herds usually migrate from the Kenyan Masai Mara through the northwest of the Serengeti to the plains in the south during the brief rainy season in October and November.
The herds gradually return through the western and north-western regions of the Serengeti following the great wet season in April, May, and June. Naturally, variations in rainfall can cause this schedule to alter, causing the animals to migrate along different paths and at different times. Your guide will make every effort to locate the animals and ensure that you are able to view them from the optimum location within the national park. Naturally, predators are drawn to the movement as well, and if you’re lucky, you might witness a kill in progress. Dinner and the night at your designated lodging

Through the work of Dr. Louis Leakey, who was the first to find the human skull and other fossils at the site in 1960, you will have the opportunity to study about the evolution of humans.

After breakfast at your hotel early in the morning, you will travel around two hours from Serengeti National Park to Tarangire National Park.
