Day-by-Day Itinerary of the Kenya wildlife migration safari

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Sweetwaters Sanctuary

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Sweetwaters Sanctuary, a sheltered oasis located in the heart of Kenya’s wilderness. After a delicious lunch, you will embark on an afternoon game drive in the private 110,000-acre ranch, also known as the site of Jane Goodall’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Keep your eyes peeled for an array of wildlife, including giraffe, zebra, buffalo, elephant, Oryx, and eland. Dinner and overnight at Sweet Waters Tented Camp.

 

Day 2: Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru, one of the Rift Valley Soda Lakes. The lake is famous for its stunning flocks of lesser flamingoes, which turn the lake pink. Upon arrival, you will check-in at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive, spotting animals such as Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelle, long-are dong eared leaf-nosed bat, Columbus monkey, Rock Hyrax, Hippo, Leopard, Lion, Rhino, Waterbuck, Impala, Gazelle, Stripped Hyena, Bat-eared fox, Wild cat, Reedbuck, and Golden cat. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, you will proceed to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, graced by a wide variety of unique and exquisite wildlife and birds. The reserve is home to the richest concentration of wildlife, including the “Big Five” (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo), zebras, antelope, gnus, Oribis, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, hartebeests, hippos, crocodiles, and others. Upon arrival, you will check-in at Mara Sopa Lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive, spotting the above-named animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Spend the day on morning and afternoon game drives in Masai Mara, spotting lions, cheetahs, and antelope. The Masai Mara Ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in the whole world, and it’s where two million Wildebeest, Zebra, and Thompson’s gazelles migrate annually. Lunch, dinner, and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 5: Nairobi and Mombasa

After breakfast, you will return to Nairobi and fly to Mombasa, a coastal city in Kenya. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Sarova White sands Beach Hotel, where you will spend the next three nights on a half board basis. The coastline North of Mombasa is a world of enthralling history and natural beauty, lined with pristine palm-fringed beaches, and the calm inviting waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 6-7: Mombasa

Spend the next two days relaxing at the beach, exploring the surrounding area, or taking part in various water sports and activities. Dinner and overnight at Sarova White sands Beach Hotel.

 

Day 8:End of our Kenya wildlife migration safari and Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi, where you will connect to your flight back home.
