Detailed Itinerary 8 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon arrival, you shall be required to take the covid-19 tests as a mandatory requirement by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and the Ugandan government to ensure your health safety in the country. Your allocated driver /Guide will be waiting to transfer you to the booked accommodation for your refreshment and relaxation. Our company representative will be ready to meet and de-brief you about your 8days safari.

Accommodation at 2friends Guesthouse Entebbe, Protea hotel Entebbe or Karibu Guest house on full board meal basis.

Day 2: Transfer from Entebbe to Bwindi

With an early breakfast, your allocated guide will be ready by 7:00 am to transfer you to Bwindi which is an 8-10 hour drive where you will be doing Gorilla Trekking the following day. On your safari, you will experience the beautiful flora and fauna of the western part of Uganda and also have a stopover at the Equator for some knowledge sharing and photographs too. Proceeding with the journey, you will get to visit the Igongo cultural center and of course, have a hot lunch in Mbarara city where you will later continue with the journey passing through the beautiful mountainous roads to Bwindi.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After having an early breakfast, at 7:00 am your guide will transfer you to the national park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and the don’ts while with the Gorillas. The lodge will provide you packed lunch and drinking bottled mineral water. The trekking activity normally begins from 7:45 am -to 8:00 am.

Day 4: Nature walks, Hike, and Canoe across Lake Mutanda

After having breakfast, you will take a walk passing through the community that helps you discover the nature and lifestyle the Batwa people adopted after being removed from the forest. The walk can take 2-3 hours with a beautiful canoe ride on Lake Mutanda. Blacksmith activity that brings out the magic of the early Stone Age and visits the Batwa and Bakiga traditional doctors can be an optional activity to be done.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred by your allocated driver/ Guide to Mgahinga Park headquarters where briefing starts at 7:00 am and an allocation of 1 hour is granted with the beautiful Golden Monkeys after spotting them.

After lunch, your allocated driver/guide will cross the border via Cyanika to Rwanda for your adventure safari tomorrow. At the border, Covid19 policies and restrictions may apply. You should therefore be prepared enough to follow through with the guidelines so that you don’t get delayed. Later check into your lodge, have dinner, and relax for the next activity tomorrow.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park –Rwanda

You will have an early breakfast and later be transferred to the national park headquarters for briefing by 7:00 am. Rwanda’s gorillas are not difficult to trek unlike the ones in Uganda. Trekking these gorillas will give you impressive memories to stay.

Day 7: Optional activities

Option 1: You can choose to stay in and enjoy the lodge’s activities like Rwanda cultural group performance, a nature walk, and tales about Rwanda’s history, cultures, and its people.

Option 2: you can decide to track the endangered golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. The beautiful little monkeys light up the jungle with golden cuteness.

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali Capital City

Kigali city is a beautiful place to take a flossy breath in. with great confirmation about your outbound flight, the driver/guide can drive you to the Genocide memorial center to visit and know the history of the deceased. After a heartfelt moment, the driver will drop you at the airport for your flight home in time.
