Detailed Itinerary: 15 Days Kenya Uganda Safari
Day 1: Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport– Nairobi, you will be met by the company representative plus the Guide/driver and they will transfer you to your booked hotel where you will be briefed on the next program of the 15 days Kenya and Uganda wildlife safari before enjoying dinner on your own.
Day 2: City Tour in Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve
After having a relaxed breakfast, you will be led by the guide to conducting a Nairobi city tour where you will visit the Nairobi national museum for the history of Kenya through displayed information and art pieces. Take another tour around Nairobi city and a visit to the Ivory memorial burning site.
After having a hot lunch from your hotel, you will proceed with the Drive to the land of the Maasai people. The drive will take approximately 6hours and will arrive late in the evening. Check into your booked accommodation, have dinner, and rest early enough in order to catch a morning game drive.
Day 3: Game drives – Maasai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast, the guide will transfer you to the park offices for briefing then game drive sighting where you will look out for animals like the cheetah, elephants, lions, buffaloes, rhinos, hartebeests, etc. break off for lunch at your hotel or have a picnic lunch set on one of the reserve sites.
After lunch, drive back to the park for another splendid game drive in the evening as you enjoy passing through the beautiful plains of the reserve in search of the Big five. Maasai Mara is known for its abundance of big cats and wildebeest (see if you can capture a picture of one)!
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Awake to the sounds of the bush as you have an early breakfast before driving for Lake Nakuru that is commonly known for harboring flocks of pink flamingos and a rich variety of bird species.
Have lunch en route at Café Ubuntu, a G Adventures-supported project that trains and employs local women and mothers of children with disabilities. Get to explore the craft center, meet some of the women who create the crafts, and sit down for a delicious farm-to-table meal.
After lunch, drive to the safari lodge inside Lake Nakuru National Park for check-ins then prepare to go on a late afternoon wildlife drive to try and spot the resident rhinos in the area.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park offices for clearance and briefing about the animals in the park. Enjoy your full day game drive with lots of beautiful wildlife adventure with over 50 mammal species like the white and black Rhinoceros, African buffalo, zebras, waterbucks, Rothschild giraffes, Impalas, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, hyenas, Jackals, hippopotamus, etc. and 400 bird species including the Greater and Lesser Flamingos.
Day 6: Fly to Entebbe – Uganda
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred back to Nairobi at the JKI Airport where you will fly to Entebbe. You will be picked up and transferred by the company representative and Guide/ driver to your booked hotel.
Day 7: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park where we shall catch the boat trip on the lake in the afternoon. Different mammals will be seen like the hippos, crocodiles, water birds like the rare African finfoot and the African fish eagle. Animals that gather for drinking water like the antelopes, buffaloes, and impalas.
Day 8: Game drives – Lake Mburo
Enjoy a break of down morning savanna game drive around the park and meet up-close some of Africa’s big game animals and get back to the lodge just in time for breakfast.
After breakfast, with your ranger guide walk down into the park on foot for a nature walk and a canoe ride on Lake Mburo. You’ll be back at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch enjoy another walk around the lodge till late in the evening as you view a golden sunset on the horizons of Africa.
Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will proceed with the drive to Bwindi passing through the park for the last wildlife sighting where you will reach late in the evening. Check into the Lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 10: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After having an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the national park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and the don’ts while with the Gorillas. By 7:45 am – 8:00 am, you will commence hiking the mountains in search of the Gorillas. Packed lunch and bottled mineral water will be provided.
After a successful gorilla trekking, you can either relax at the lodge memorizing the beautiful experience, or drive up the hill to the top of the world to have a beautiful view of the mountains with entertainment from the Batwa people.
Day 11: Hike and Canoe across Lake Mutanda.
After having breakfast, you will take a walk passing through the community that helps you discover the nature and lifestyle the Batwa people adopted after being removed from the forest. The walk can take 2-3 hours with a beautiful canoe ride on Lake Mutanda.
Day 12: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start the day with an early breakfast as you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park where lots of Wildlife will be sighted including the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. The drive takes 5-6 hours.
Day 13: Game Drives – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have an early breakfast and set off for a morning game drive along the Queen’s Mile plus the Kasenyi trail. On this trail, you will see elephants, waterbucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs plus warthogs in addition to several birds.
Return for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where you will encounter Buffaloes, Elephants, Hippos, kobs plus warthogs among others. This ride will also enable you to see an array of birds then proceed to your accommodation for rest.
Day 14: Transfer to Kibale Forest – PM Chimpanzee trekking
After having an early breakfast, drive to Kibale forest where you will reach in time for lunch.
After lunch, catch the exiting chimpanzee trekking experience in the forest with the accompaniment of the knowledgeable rangers and Guide.
Day 15: Transfer to Entebbe
After having breakfast, we drive back to Entebbe for your outbound flight. The journey will take 5 -6 hours.
