Detailed Itinerary: Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach Package

Day 1: Arusha–Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from the hotel at 7 am and transport you to Tarangire National Park. Nearly 3000 square kilometres make up Tarangire National Park, which is mostly noted for its enormous populations of elephants and baobab trees. The Tarangire River, which flows through the park, is the source of the park’s name. Because the Tarangire River serves as the sole supply of water for massive populations of elephants and other animals, wildlife densities there rival those of the Serengeti, making it particularly stunning during the dry season (March–April).

The park is home to more than 2000 elephants and 500 bird species because of its diverse ecosystems and Tarangire River, which provides stable water. With the greatest perspective of the Ngorongoro escarpment, Lake Manyara is noted for its tree-climbing lions. It also has over 300 different bird species, including the big five.

Dinner and Overnight at Bougain ville lodge.

 Day 2: Tarangire-Serengeti National Park

Drive to Serengeti National Park after breakfast in the morning, then go on a game drive on the way to Serengeti Sametu Lodge or Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp for supper and the night. The Ndutu plains in the southern Serengeti are home to sizable herds of gazelles, zebras, and wildebeests during the months of December, January, February, March, and June/July. Large predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards are also common in the park, along with resident animals like giraffes, buffalo, and elephants.

Overnight at Serengeti Acacia lodges or Serengeti Sametu lodge.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park. (Full Day Game Drive)

A full-day safari in Serengeti National Park that includes the opportunity to see animals in the morning and afternoon. With a total area of 14,763 square kilometres, the Serengeti is the most well-known national park in the world. It borders Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.

The Serengeti is likely to draw a variety of prey, including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackals, and bat-eared foxes, due to its roughly 2 million wildebeest and several other hoofed species, such as zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, impala, topi, Grants gazelle, Kongoni, Eland, Kirk’s dik-dik, klipspringer, roan, Oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe, elephant, and warthog. Additionally, black rhinoceroses are primarily observed in the Moru kopjes region. With more than 450 species, such as ostriches, kori bustards, finches, raptors, lilac-breasted rollers, and various larks, the Serengeti also provides rewarding bird watching.   Day 4: Serengeti National Park-Ngorongoro Crater.

The crater has developed into a distinctive and essential component of Tanzania’s natural environment. The crater, which is 22.5 km large and has rim walls that are 610 m high, is actually a caldera. The views from the rim and inside are breathtaking. Because there is water available throughout the wet and dry seasons, the 30,000 animals and wide diversity of birds that call Ngorongoro Crater home rarely leave.

Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro lions paw lodge

Day 5: Ngorongoro crater rim-back to Arusha

Drive into the crater for game viewing with a picnic lunch after an early breakfast. Then, descend to the crater floor for a wildlife viewing safari while timing your out permit. By 2:30 pm, return to Arusha for dinner and spend the night at the Venice hotel.

Day 6: Transfer from Arusha to Mount Kilimanjaro

Drive to Mount Kilimanjaro at Marangu Gate for a full day of trekking and a few short hikes after breakfast. Then, return to Moshi town for supper and spend the night at the Kilimanjaro White House Hotel.

 Day 7: Flight to Zanzibar

You will take a flight to Zanzibar on this day. However, you will learn about the lifestyle of the Chaga tribe by going on a cultural walking trip prior to the flight. Following a brief cultural excursion, you will fly to Zanzibar. The guide will meet you at the airport when you arrive in Zanzibar and take you to your accommodation.

Day 8: Zanzibar Island (Stone Town, Prison Island)

Before leaving for Stone Town at 9:30 and beginning the Stone Town Tour with the guide, an early breakfast is served. Two hours may be needed for this tour. After that, you will have lunch at a restaurant before leaving for Prison Island.

Stone Town, also known as Mji Mkongwe, the Swahili name for the old town, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a fascinating maze of winding alleys and small streets. Take in the island’s distinctive architecture, which includes historic locations like the old fort, House of Wonder, Persianbath, Darajani market churches, and mosques that go back to the early 1800s, while also losing yourself in the commotion of the busy bazaars. From the 1860s until the end of the slave trade, the sultans utilised Changuu Island as a prison for enslaved rebels.

After which the British began building a prison on the island under the guidance of First Governor, Lloyd Matthews. This was completed in 1894. But the “prison” was never used for anything other than a quarantine facility for potential yellow fever patients, and even then, it was rarely used in that capacity. It is also home to a family of gigantic tortoises, introduced from Seychelles in the late19th century.

With refreshments available all day, this island is perfect for a day excursion. Freshly caught fish is served at its little restaurant as well. From Stone Town, the island is a well-liked day trip destination. The island, which is about 20 minutes from the city by traditional Dhow sailing boat, has a lovely, peaceful white sand beach for swimming and sunbathing, as well as great snorkelling. Day 9: Zanzibar Island (Dolphin adventure)

After an early breakfast, you will leave for Kizimkazi at 6:00 for a dolphin trip, which can last two hours. Following the dolphin tour, you will head to Jozani Forest, which will also take two hours. You can have lunch at Stone Town after Jozani before returning to the hotel by the shore. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with dolphins in their natural environment. Numerous pods of humpback and bottleneck dolphins call the fishing community of Kizim Kazi home.

There is a 90% chance of seeing dolphins in the Indian Ocean, which is crystal clear and turquoise blue. Following the unique opportunity to swim with dolphins, you can spend some time snorkelling before returning to the shore for lunch. Created in 1960, the Jozani Forest is a conservation area located in the centre of Zanzibar Island. The 50 square kilometre Jozani Forest, which contains a portion of the Jozani Chwaka National Park, is situated in the middle of the Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park. It was established to preserve the rare and stunning Kirk’s red colobus monkey. Conservation is to thank. Tanzania safari and Zanzibar beach

Breakfast in the morning before leaving for the 6-hour Full Day Safari Blue trip at 9:30 a.m. Safari Blue is more than just a tasty, locally-prepared, full-day tour in a classic sailing dhow. Stone Town and Fumba Town are about 30 minutes away from Safari Blue Experience, where you board a dhow to go to Menai Bay. dotted with remote beaches, rocky island landscapes, deserted islands, beautiful marine life, and azure waterways.

One of the best sea adventures on Zanzibar Island, the tour starts at Fumba beach at 9:30 am and returns at 4:30 pm. With your Safari Blue guide, you will explore the mangrove lagoon hidden inside Kwale Island, swim, snorkel and sunbathe in the crystal-clear waters with high-quality equipment, and soak up the warm tropical sun on the immaculate sandbank.
